Ecology is the buzz word of this century. We are finally realising that we must protect our planet and not destroy it.
How can we do this?
In just one week we can learn a lot if we visit Australia’s Gold Coast, which is famous not only for Surfer’s Paradise, but also for the Springbrook National Park, with its rain forests, spectacular waterfalls and uncontaminated beaches.
Experience for yourself Burleigh Heads, where the forest meets the ocean, and make your contribution by participating in a water-monitoring programme.
You can also kayak through waterways, learn about mangroves, visit an eco village, learn how to create a sustainable lifestyle and get “up close and personal” with Australia’s fantastic assortment of flora and fauna. The program includes a tour of Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, where you can touch koalas and encounter rarer species like echidnas, which look like small porcupines with long noses.
Inforum Education of Southport have designed this program for learners of English to enable them to experience first-hand the natural beauty of the Gold Coast and to raise awareness of how we can all help make our world a better place to live in.
The Eco Program may be taken as just an adventure, or in conjunction with an English language course.
