Mark Worden (Standard British accent):
The June issue of Speak Up contains an interview with Gabrielle Euvino, author of Dirty Italian: Everyday Slang From What’s up to F*%# Off. In this “out-take” she talks about her relationship with Italy:
Oh, God, I love Italy! I love Italians, but I see the Italians for who they are – who we are. It’s a very rich culture, people love “La Dolce Vita,” I tend to like to get under the surface, I have good friends there. It’s a place that sets the standard for everything else. It doesn’t matter what you’re talking about, the Italians have excelled and I started there and there really hasn’t been much... I’ve traveled all over the world, but I keep on coming back ‘cause they know how to live, the Italians know how to live. It’s all about the moment. The slow food movement, clothes, the aesthetic, movies, books, literature. I don’t have to tell you why Italy is wonderful, it’s sort of like between New York and Italy, I feel like I’ve got everything I could possibly need.
