In spite of his image of being “the world’s sexiest man” George Clooney (unlike a number of film stars one could mention) is also a highly talented actor with a capacity for choosing (and often producing) interesting movies.  And his latest project, The American (which received its US release on September 1st) certainly fits the bill. Clooney plays Jack, a professional assassin who is getting tired of his job. He takes a break and heads to Italy. Here he awaits his next and – he hopes – last assignment, but things get complicated when he becomes friends with a local priest and falls in love with a local woman...
