Mark Worden (Standard British accent):
The October issue of Speak Up features an interview with the actor John Peter Sloan, who stars in a Milan production of Rob Becker’s play, Defending the Caveman. The play, which is presented as a monologue, takes an amusing look at the misunderstandings between men and women. We asked John Peter Sloan to reveal the secret to happiness in relationships:
To spend some time in her world and for her to spend some time in your world, so to make a sacrifice. The wonderful thing about this – because I’ve already done some very closed audience previews of Caveman – and the amazing thing, I think, is that Becker, the way he’s written this, makes some of men’s faults really kind of lovable. It’s the language, you see, this it, women, the big mistake they make is they judge men on women’s standards, they expect men to reveal their emotions, for example, to reveal their sentiments and a man will never do that in conversation, but he will tell you everything you need, if you know what to look for, whereas women just talk all the time!
