di ELCS - The English Language Consultancy Service
Young Learners who have a spirit of adventure will really like the latest offering from Kaplan International English. The programme takes place at an outdoor activity centre on the beautiful Isle of Wight, just off the south coast of England. All activities are run by experienced and qualified staff, so parents can be sure that their teenagers are well looked after every minute of every day. The centre is set in 100 acres of private grounds, so there is plenty of space for all of the scheduled outdoor activities. Students are encouraged to try a variety of exciting and unusual pursuits, from quad biking to caving, and from rock climbing to kayaking. No previous experience is necessary – just a desire to have fun, and at least an elementary knowledge of English. Archery and fencing are also offered, along with go-karting, abseiling, surfing and circus skills. In addition to using English during the activities, students also receive 15 hours of English lessons per week in multinational groups. On Saturdays there is a full day excursion either to London or to Portsmouth. There is also a complete programme of evening games and entertainment, so that when bedtime comes at 11 pm most students collapse into bed – contentedly exhausted!
